I have heard of a condition known as edema (fluid build up in the soft tissue) that can result in leg "pitting" (formation of pits in the skin as the result of applied pressure). A family member appears to have this condition but it only occurs in one leg, which was also the sight of a major injury some 25 years ago (an injury that was never properly repaired due to the quality of medicine at the time). Is it possible for such an old injury to result in edema?
