Is putting the tree of temptation in front of 2 innocents a good example of God intelligently designing Eden?

God gave us free will. If God had not given us free will then we would have been mere robots or we would have been like the angels who are not allowed to sin. Also, why would anyone come down hard n God for making a rule when our entire society is is based on rules? You stop at the red light dont you when it is red? You will not pull in front of an 18 wheeler that has the green light would you? Rules are here to protect whether we understand this complex concept or not.
